SPELL  CASTING

Spellcasting is a vital tool for any practicing witch.
It enables the manipulation of events for the highest good.

In the hands of one who is not in the proper mindset or does not have the proper training, it can also work as a weapon, it can violate the  Rede , and it can invoke unwanted karma.

KNOW YOUR INTENT.

Even a mere fleeting wish has power.  That power is amplified many times over when used in a spell. Before performing any type of magick, especially a spell which affects others, be careful what you wish for.

BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE.

A wish for money can indeed bring you wealth, at the expense of others.  For example, a wish for money with no details specified can result in you being involved in a car accident, where you are physically harmed and due a large settlement. Is this what you want? Of course not! So know how to ask for what you want. For instance, cast a spell to help you find a better paying job, to advance in your position, to choose the proper means of investing.

As for love spells, I have one word of advice: DON'T.

Love spells infringe on another's free will. To wish for love in your life, for new friends, new relationships, all with the intent of the highest good is fine.

But to direct a love spell at another individual is not. What could you possibly hope to gain by forcing this person to love you? Imagine if someone did that to you, someone you chose not to love, or even like. Think about it.

A Simple, Safe Spell for You

To bring love into your life...

A ritual herb bath is always appropriate before performing any magick. Use a sacred space or cast a circle.
If you feel the need to invoke dieties, Aphrodite is a most appropriate goddess, Eros the god, that adorable little Cupid. Light some rose or lavendar or patchouly incense to help set the mood. Use a pink or a red candle, dress it with rose oil, and imagine yourself in a loving relationship, visualize the happiness it will bring you, and focus your wish into the flame.

Vibrate whatever words or chants you choose, being sure not to direct them at anyone. Feel the energy build and fill you with hope.

When you feel the spell is complete, allow the candle to burn out on its own. (This goes for any magickal working.  If it is not safe to leave the candle burning, use a flame snuffer.  Never blow a candle out or reuse a candle that is used for a specific magickal purpose.) Thank and dismiss whoever you invoked, and open the circle.

As with any rite, make sure your intent is clear and in accordance with the Rede, be of the right mindset, and be totally aware of what you are doing. It is not a good idea to work magick when you are physically or emotionally out of balance. Remember, it is much more difficult, if not impossible, to undo a spell once it has been given form.
If you have the slightest reservations about what you are doing,
don't do it!
