bounding over rocks and stumps
you run with the swiftness of light
splashing wildly in standing puddles
the cub within you plays tonight

always beside me, my Lucan guide
untamed as the situation deems
yet docile with your head in my lap
my companion, guardian of my dreams

leading me safely through your forest
at the top of my totem is your presence
your amber eyes, alert, all-knowing
your tawny coat warm, grey and dense

your den, my place of refuge
we journey together on another plane
where Rabbit talks and Owl sings
we meet for a purpose once again

sacred drums beat in the distance
we dance with abandon in the breeze
we seek truth from native elders
we eat offerings from neighboring trees

I find strength and comfort in the forest
Eagle flew away, and I never met Bear
but I know Wolf's secrets, and he knows mine
I am safe in my vision. Wolf is there
